The China-Canada Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainability Research was established to provide much needed research in energy and environmental studies related to social responsibility, climate change and adaptation.
Located at North China Electric Power University and the University of Regina, the China-Canada Institute undertakes teaching, research and demonstration projects related to pollution mitigation, clean energy, greenhouse gas emission reductions, climate change and environmental modeling to meet global clean energy needs.
North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, China, officially listed as one of the "211 Project" and "985 Project" universities as well as a "Predominant Discipline Innovation Platform." NCEPU is a key university jointly constructed by the Ministry of Education and the University Council, which is composed of State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., China Huaneng Group, China Datang Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Guodian Corporation and China Power Investment Corporation.
