The Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities of the University of Regina is an institutional research and demonstration centre that integrates energy, environment and sustainability research expertise and undertakes thematic research to address the impacts and challenges of climate change. The Institute was formed in 2011.
IEESC has the expertise to better understand and develop responses to environment and energy issues affecting our communities. Our research provides a solid scientific basis for decision-making, public policy development, risk management strategies, and adjusting to our changing climate.
IEESC combines research from several disciplines to examine areas such as climate trends, energy, pollution and safe drinking water. Our experts are engineers, social scientists, biologists, chemists, geologists, geographers, computer scientists and educators from universities, not-for-profits, and the public and private sectors.
