Dr. Hongbo Zeng from University of Alberta visits IEESC on Jan 9. He gives a seminar titled “Intermolecular Forces and Surface Interactions in Engineering Process”. After the seminar, Dr. Zeng had extensive discussions with IEESC researchers in terms of research collaborations in a number of areas with common interest.
Dr. Zeng is currently a Professor at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Alberta. He is Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Intermolecular Forces and Interfacial Science. Dr. Zeng’s research interests are in colloid and interface science, functional materials & nanotechnology, with a special focus on intermolecular and surface interactions in soft materials (e.g., polymers, biopolymers, surfactants, emulsions, hydrogels), complex fluids, petroleum, oil sands and mineral processing, and development of functional materials (e.g., self-healing materials).
