The conference "Advancing Responsible Consumption and Production in Higher Education: Inaugural Conference for the IAU Cluster on SDG #12" was held in Regina May 6-7, 2019. Participants learned about the role of higher education from postsecondary institutions and communities around the world in advancing resposible consumption and production.
Sustainable consumption and production is about "promoting resource and energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs, and a better quality of life for all".
The University of Regina and Luther College are leading a thematic cluster on Higher Education for Sustainable Development for SDG 12. The cluster's activities are part of a larger initiative of the International Association of Universities to engage higher education in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030.
