IEESC hosted the 2nd forum on energy, environment and sustainable communities on January 11, 2016, as part of the institute’s continued effort to address the impacts and challenges related to environment and energy issues affecting Saskatchewan communities.

 

IEESC’s partners met with IEESC research scientists to promote collaborations, explore interactions with industry and government stakeholders, and to identify potential new partnerships that will bring value to future research and problem solving.

 

The one-day event featured 20 speakers. Topics covered at the forum included image analysis and visualization, interactions between humans and wildlife, finance and accounting, environmental education and civic discourse, sustainable development of a nearby watershed, mine waste management, and hydropower.

 

The next forum will be held later in 2016.
