On February 26, 2014, two members from IEESC attended a symposium on environmental technologies sponsored by the Ministry of Environment. The full-day event featured a series of 30 minute presentations on the successful outcomes from the Ministry's Go Green Fund program. IEESC learned about the challenges and opportunities related to wind energy storage technologies located east of Regina, wood biomass based heating systems for communities in northern Saskatchewan, Aquistore CCUS demonstration project, geothermal heating, energy efficiency and the Net Metering Rebate program.
