On August 24, 2014, the China-Canada Institute of Energy, Environment and Sustainability Research held the symposium “EWE’2014 – Energy and Environmental Systems Analysis and Engineering Application.” The event was hosted by North China Electric Power University. Dr. Yongping Li (NCEPU and C-C IEESR) and Dr. Gordon Huang (UofR and C-C IEESR) served as symposium chairs. Presentations and discussions covered a variety of topics on government, policies and partnerships, from experiences with commercial CCUS, reverse electrodialysis power generation, inexact optimization for energy and environmental systems, ecological modelling, to environmental learning and leadership, and policy support in managing energy and environmental systems.
