February 19, 2016

On February 17, 2016 in Saskatoon the Canadian Light Source and the University of Regina signed a Memorandum of Understanding for technical and scientific collaboration in synchrotron science. The MOU will strengthen scientific discovery in Saskatchewan.

IEESC researchers are active users at the CLS, from finding new techniques for soil remediation and studying emerging pollutants of pharmaceuticals and personal care products.

Collaborative activities between the CLS and IEESC include support for U of R researchers preparing CLS applications and training/guidance on proposal system navigation, a workshop to build the synchrotron community in Regina and share expertise among faculty and students, co-supervision of a U of R graduate student, meetings to communicate research findings and new opportunities, and joint applications for funding.
